Tree with magical powers
The role of the magical tree at Bibi Pak Daman which enabled many women to gain fertility.
At the center of the courtyard of the Bibi Pak Daman shrine in Lahore, surrounded by hundreds of devotees who visit the shrine on daily basis and have a strong association with the tree which is in the courtyard of the shrine and this tree has the twisted trunk of an ancient war tree. Which is rising from the middle of the courtyard and it forms an overarching canopy giving an artistic look people also have the religious sentiments embedded with the tree and many call it a magical tree due to several religious reasons. Nevertheless, during hot summer afternoons, several devotees doze under its shade, lying on the cool marble floor over which the branches of the tree are spread. This tree is believed to have magical properties and several female devotees yearning for a child eat its leaves in the hope that their wish will be fulfilled while others tie prayer threads on its ancient branches, praying to the guardians of the shrine to intercede on their behalf. Traditions associated with trees have for long been part of religious culture in the Indian subcontinent. Archaeologists have unearthed devotional seals, which depict trees, dating to the Indus Valley Civilisation. The banyan tree acquired a particular significance in the Buddhist tradition due to its association with Siddhartha, who later became the Buddha. Though we as Muslims do not tend to have any such beliefs relating to things such as trees stones etc but due to having a history with Indians we have adopted many of there cultural as well as certain religious practices in case of making wishes from God and having firm believe that eating the branches of tree will for sure help the infertile woman to get fertile.
